I'd agree, nice find. Especially
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">struck a chord with me. Either because I suck, or because the longevity of stuff like Crooked Features is not yet able to be measured .....It just amazes me that anybody can be a filmmaker...even those who suck. We are going through kind of a bad transition in entertainment. I think we'll pop out of it. As all this crap is out there, only the good will survive or have any longevity. I think we're going to break out. Acting will take a backseat to technology, and that's a shame, but I think that it can't be helped.
As to acting taking a backseat to tech, that's one reason my style has ALWAYS been to move the camera around the actors and not move the actors around the camera (within reason of course, a sidestep never killed anyone -- well apart from that shoot at the White Cliffs of Dover). Which obviously suits a documentary style rather than full-on cinematic where every shot is designed like a real-life 3D Studio Max. In which case, why not just do a frickin animation?!
As ever, keep things in balance, everything in moderation. Dramatise your differentiating idea.
